KMS contract wallets
Run402 can sign and broadcast write transactions to EVM smart contracts on your behalf via AWS KMS-backed wallets. Private keys never leave KMS — not even in plaintext to run402.
- $0.04/day per wallet ($1.20/month). Daily debit from your cash balance, billed as a separate
kms_wallet_rentalledger entry. - $1.20 prepay required at creation (30 days of rent). Prevents zombie wallets that suspend on day 1.
- Contract calls: chain gas at-cost + $0.000005 per call (KMS sign fee). The sign fee is the only run402 markup on contract calls; gas is at-cost with 0% markup.
- Suspension: when your cash balance can't cover the next day's rent, all wallets on the project transition to
suspended. Reactivation is automatic on top-up — no admin action. - 90-day deletion: a wallet that stays suspended for 90 days has its KMS key permanently destroyed (7-day AWS deletion window). Funds-rescue mechanisms: drain endpoint, recovery address, and warning emails on days 60/75/88.
run402 provides KMS-backed signing infrastructure, not fund custody. You are solely responsible for managing the on-chain ETH balance of your wallets. The drain endpoint and recovery address are optional safety nets, not guarantees. If you do not pay rent, drain the wallet, or set a recovery address before the 90-day suspension grace period ends, on-chain funds at the wallet address become permanently inaccessible to anyone, including run402.
